A private seller was recently left stunned after a buyer that contacted them from DoneDeal stole their car.
Gardaí are warning people to be vigilant when selling goods online after a car that was advertised on DoneDeal was robbed.
Luckily, gardaí recovered the car a few days later. However, they are now warning people to be vigilant when selling goods and vehicles online- and to always go on a test drive with a potential buyer. He said: “You couldn't make these things up. A genuine person put their car for sale on DoneDeal, this person came out to look at the car, asked for a test drive and the car was taken.
