An elderly man has sadly died from injuries sustained in a car crash in Co Mayo two weeks ago. Gardai are appealing for witnesses, particularly those with dash-cam footage, to come forward.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 90s died from injuries sustained in a car crash two weeks ago. The collision occurred on the afternoon of December 29, 2024, on the N5 Castlebar to Turlough road in Co Mayo, involving a car and a van. The elderly driver was transported to Mayo University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Tragically, Gardai confirmed on January 13, 2025, that the man passed away due to these injuries.
The other driver, a man in his 30s, was also taken to Mayo University Hospital but sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carried out a thorough technical examination of the crash scene. With the incident now resulting in a fatality, Gardai have launched an appeal for witnesses, particularly those who may have dash-cam footage of the area around the time of the collision.
