BREAKING Gardai investigating household name GAA star over claims of alleged €1m fraud

Gardai are investigating one of Ireland’s best known sport stars over claims of an alleged €1million fraud.

It is understood the GAA household name is alleged to have taken money from various individuals under false pretences. He said: “A lot of people gave him substantial funds and now they believe they were conned. They are all very angry and believe they will never get a penny back.Gardai confirmed that officers in the Eastern region had begun a major investigation into the individual.Another source said the figure involved was at least €1million quid.

He said: “This scam is truly awful. A lot of decent people have been stung. The individual involved has some neck and has destroyed lifelong friendships."
