In the 24-hour period of September 7, up to 1,100 Gardaí of all ranks will be on duty in Dublin City, around the Aviva Stadium, Dublin Airport and any other associated areas
The UEFA Nations League fixture between the Republic of Ireland and England will take place in the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, September 7. The expected match attendance is in excess of 49,000 people. Kick-off is at 5pm.
Heavy volumes of traffic can be expected in Dublin city centre and in the general Dublin 4 area throughout the day, culminating in a gradual build-up in the vicinity of the stadium in the lead-up to kick-off and an immediate build-up of traffic post-event. The Garda Commissioner has declared this an ‘Extraordinary Event’ in the Dublin area only to allow for the appropriate policing for this event.
Local residents, their immediate families, local business community will be facilitated at the barriers with proof of address. However, proof of address does not guarantee entry through the cordon when pedestrian volumes are high.The following roads will be closed to through traffic from 3pm on September 7:
