The man, who is in his 30s, was discovered dead at a property in the Sallins Park area of Sallins, Co Kildare in the early hours of Sunday morning. Gardai have launched a murder investigation.

In a statement gardai said: “Gardai in Naas are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in his 30s, which occurred following an incident at a residence in Sallins, County Kildare, on Sunday, May 12th, 2024. “Upon arrival, a man in his 30s was discovered with fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later. A man in his early 20s was arrested at the property and is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda Station in County Kildare.
