A man has been arrested following the discovery and seizure of drugs with a value of over €250,000 in Cork City on Wednesday.
In a statement addressing Wednesday's discovery in Cork, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: "Gardaí attached to the Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit, carried out the search of a property as part of an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the City. The news comes two weeks after the largest drugs seizure in the history of the state was carried out when a Panamanian registered freighter was stopped off the Cork coast and found to contain a cocaine haul with a possible street value of €500 million.
