A firearm and ammunition were found in the south west area of Dublin after a policing plan was put in place
Two men aged in their 30s have been arrested following the seizure of a firearm and ammunition in the capital.
The assault related to the funeral of a young man in the Church of the Assumption in Ballyfermot, for which gardai in the area had implemented a strict policing plan. The seizure of the firearm by gardai took place the following day, in the area where the policing plan was in place.Shortly after 5pm on Tuesday, February 21, gardai from Ballyfermot were on patrol in the Kylemore area of Dublin 10."Additional Garda units soon arrived on the scene and the two men were arrested. Following a search of the area, a firearm and ammunition was subsequently retrieved by gardai," a Garda spokesperson said.
