A WhatsApp phone number allegedly sent disturbing messages to those who attempted to contact it and later became linked to a game called “The Momo Challenge” or “Momo Game”.

Users told authorities if they sent a message to Momo from their mobile phone, it responded with violent and aggressive images. Irish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children Policy Co-ordinator, Fiona Jennings said it was a good time to have a conversation with children regarding online safety. The ISPCC official said children can always contact their organisation via1800 66 66 66 24 hours a day.“Concerns raised in recent days have created conversations around the importance of striving to ensure children and young people are safe online.
