Rats can be a nuisance in the garden, but there is a simple and natural method to keep them away while helping your plants grow bigger and stronger
Dealing with rats nibbling on your cherished plants can be a nuisance, but there's a straightforward way to deter these pests while simultaneously enhancing the health of your garden.
He explained: "Rats, unlike us, aren't fans of the strong smell of coffee. It's not their cup of tea - or, should I say, coffee. So, if you've been pondering whether to use coffee grounds in your compost bin or scatter them around your yard, go ahead." Furthermore, coffee grounds can enhance soil drainage, reduce the risk of fungal diseases in plants, and keep other pests such as slugs at bay, making it an extremely cost-effective and efficient fertiliser.
Excessive coffee ground in the soil can also form a barrier when poured onto soil and prevent water and air from reaching a plant's roots. Kelsey added: "So, coffee grounds could be a valuable ally, whether you're an indoor composter dealing with fruit flies or an outdoor composter warding off rodents."
