Gary Lineker and other freelance presenters will keep the freedom to tweet their political views, SNP MP John Nicolson has claimed BBC Director-General, Tim Davie, said he was “surprised” that the MP had chosen to “pre-empt the report”

Questioning Tim Davie, BBC Director-General, at a Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee hearing, Mr Nicolson said the Hardie review has reached a “common sense position”.
