Head coach Rob Edwards says watfordfc will benefit so much from the signing of Mario Gaspar
The signing of Mario Gaspar brings leadership, knowledge and technical ability to Watford, and Rob Edwards refuses to agree that, at 31, the Spaniard falls into the category labelled ‘old’.
“He’s been at a top club in Europe for years and played a huge amount of games, and now we have him he brings all that to us, and he will really help us. “I was part of that process in identifying him and deciding to move for him. It was very important for me that he fits into the group as a person, and then the decision to sign him was made by all of us involved in recruitment.”“Monday might come too soon for him,” he said. “He’s been with us a few days but we still need to let him settle, understand how we want to play and bed into the group.
“They’re both very good players who have been working hard, and while they’re at the club of course we’re going to use them, because they can help us. Why wouldn’t I use them?” said Edwards.
