GreatBritishBakeOff ’s LauraAdlington says she cried as she watched AlisonHammond break down over obesity
Great British Bake Off star Laura Adlington has taken to Instagram to share a moving post about obesity following Alison Hammond revelations on This Morning.
Laura wrote: “Today I watched in tears as @alisonhammond55 talked about her struggle with her weight on This Morning. Laura continued: “For a long time I have felt that people who grapple with their weight and disordered eating are, sadly, not met with the same empathy or support as people with anorexia or other eating disorders. We are made to feel worthless on a daily basis, told we are lazy, and encouraged to simply ‘eat less, move more’.
One wrote: “Yes! I so agree with this. I watched it and was in tears too as it's all so true and sad. Larger people aren't treated the same - fatphobia is a very real thing. I saw a post a while back that really resonated with me that said "even if we all ate the same and all exercised the same we would all look different" and I do really believe this. I have to take thyroid tablets to get some semblance of a metabolism.
