Politicians had three short weeks to campaign and spread their message among voters and no matter who you’re planning to support, here is everything you need to know
Voters will be heading to the polls tomorrow morning, Friday the 29th of November, for a general election that will decide our government for the next five years.
If you are on the Register of Electors, a polling card will be sent to your home before the date of the general election. Your polling card includes your elector number and will tell you where you can vote. You mark a ‘1’ in the box beside your first choice candidate and, if you wish, a ‘2’ in the box beside your second choice candidate, a ‘3’ in the box beside your third choice candidate, and so on. When marking your ballot paper make sure you start with ‘1’ then ‘2’ then ‘3’ and so on. To ensure your vote is counted make sure you mark your preferences as clearly as possible.Ireland allows for postal voting in limited circumstances.
