Labour has won by 9,606 votes, wiping away Sir Robert Buckland's 2019 majority of more than 6,000.
Senior Conservative politician Sir Robert Buckland has been the first West Country Tory to lose his seat.
It is an important win for the Labour Party this election. Swindon South is a bellwether seat, which means it typically votes the way the country does nationally. He went on to say: "I want to thank Heidi for her heartfelt words and I genuinely wish her well... I am glad on a personal level that she is able to serve once again."
