It's all set to kick off on Friday night but can Steve Clarke's men defy the odds at the Allianz Arena?
The waiting is almost over. Six months after Scotland landed the dream of opening Euro 2024 against hosts Germany in Munich, we are now closing in on kick off.
The Tartan Army have descended on Bavaria. Those lucky enough to land a gold-dust match ticket for Bayern Munich's impressive Allianz Arena will savour a sporting occasion of a lifetime. And the Tartan Army foot soldiers without a brief for the Group A clash won't be short of places to watch the action in the fan zone or many of the bars in a city famous for its beer and home to the world famous Oktoberfest beer festival.

We put the Record Sport experts on the spot to give their big match predictions. Keith Jackson Don’t mention Billy Gilmour. I may have done it once or twice but I think I got away with it. But if the little man turns up on the biggest of stages he might just make the difference and help Scotland off to a flyer. The battle for midfield will be critical either way and let’s hope the hosts are slow starters.Scott McDermott It’s almost tradition the hosts stumble in the opening game of their own major tournament and it can happen again in Munich.
All the pressure is on the hosts and I can see us using that to our advantage. An opening point and a goal from Super John McGinn would set things up nicely.Andy Newport The Germans will be out to put on a show as hosts but Julian Nagelsmann’s team are a long way off the uber efficient machine of old.
