The clip, shared on TikTok by user rubyyyyy01 shows the Glasgow to Dubai flight in the sky. Thanks to a trick of the eye, it doesn't appear to be moving forward.

The strange sight of the plane, an Airbus A380, left people baffled. Ruby captioned the video: "If you are on the Glasgow to Dubai flight at 5 to 3, could we ask why you weren't moving and were sat mid air?"READ MORE: Must-see Clydebank Halloween extravaganza unveils this year's theme People were quick to jump in with suggestions as to how the optical illusion happened, with one suggesting it was due to the fact the video was taken from a car travelling the opposite direction of the plane, making the flight look like it wasn't moving at all.

The lack of clouds in the sky was also suggested as a potential reason for the strange sight. Other suggestions included the size of the plane, while one person joked it was just braking at the traffic lights.Join Glasgow Live's Whatsapp Community here and get the latest news sent straight to your messages
