Halloween in the City is back this October half term and features family-friendly activities including live music, fancy dress competitions and a spooky parade
Once again the iconic inflatable monsters will decorate Manchester’s rooftops this Halloween . The colourful quirky characters will pop up across the city as part of a two-day family-friendly festival.
Halloween in the City, taking place in time for half term, is organised on behalf of city centre retailers, restaurants and businesses by the Manchester City Centre Business Improvement District. It’s been running in the city for seven years and sees Manchester transformed with spooky celebrations.It all kicks off with the week-long invasion of the MCR monsters, Created by artists Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas.
From October 26 to October 27, Halloween in the City will feature the Monsters Rock! Music Festival with live bands and DJs, gruesome games and competitions. As part of the celebrations, a giant puppet parade and stilt walkers will parade through Manchester Arndale and Market Street, forming the Rock! Party Procession, created by Walk the Plank and inspired by the MCR Monster inflatables.
Jane Sharrocks, Manchester City Centre Business Improvement District Chair and Store Director of Selfridges Exchange Square said: “Firmly established as the place to visit for a monster-sized, spooky celebration, Manchester will once again transform into the ultimate Halloween playground this October with the return of our iconic event, Halloween in the City.
