A section of the Forth & Clyde Canal towpath in North Glasgow will reopen today ahead of the completion of the new Stockingfield Bridge.
The £13.7m bridge, which features a curved design with a viewing platform, will connect the communities of Maryhill, Gilshochill and Ruchill for the first time since the waterway's opening in 1790.It will also provide a continuous active travel route from Loch Lomond in the west via Bowling Harbour on the Forth & Clyde Canal to Edinburgh via the Union Canal.
