Glasgow City Council received almost 100 calls to incidents of flooding in one day.

Amber weather warnings were in place across the country over the weekend, with Glasgow experiencing particularly bad flooding on Saturday.

A spokesperson said: “Almost half the expected rainfall for October fell on Glasgow during the amber weather warning over the weekend. “The severe intensity and extended duration of the rainfall simply overwhelmed the road drainage system at many locations “On Saturday we received 91 reports of flooding across the city and our teams worked round the clock in difficult conditions to get all of these incidents cleared as quickly as possible.
