A costly mistake for city drivers.

The number of bus lanes fines handed out to drivers in Glasgow has risen by nearly 19 per cent in just one year.

Across the city, 95,068 bus lane charge notices were dished out for 2021/22 racking in over £3million in revenue for Glasgow City Council. The figures have drastically risen from the 80,000 fines issued in 2021 - the highest number in Scotland. The number of PCNs issued for bus lane misuse rose 30% between 2020 and 2021 with the capital alone seeing a 60% increase in the number of fines.Bus lane enforcement uses a digital camera system that records vehicles illegally making use of the city's bus lanes with a £60 charge notice issued to the registered keeper of the vehicle.
