The cost of a weekly shop in Glasgow may soar
According to new research, an average family in Glasgow will be spending more than £150 on a weekly shop by the year 2030.
An average UK household spent £69.20 on a weekly shop in 2021. This could rise by £7.61 to £76.81 before the end of the year as a result of inflation — an extra £395.72 per year.Financial experts at Admiral Markets researched what households may pay for their weekly groceries if inflation continues at the same rate. If inflation were to remain at 11 per cent, the average weekly shop in the UK could cost £177.02 by 2030 — £9,204.84 per year.
