A Scottish football icon has celebrated the moment she received her MBE at Windsor Castle on social media, calling it 'unbelievable for a kid from Glasgow'.
Jen Beattie has achieved many great things on the pitch, winning the FA Women’s Super League once, FA League Cup and Women's FA Cup four times with Arsenal. In 2020, the 32-year-old was diagnosed with breast cancer, she had surgery to remove the lump and began radiotherapy whilst still lacing up her boots to represent club and country.Jen posted on Twitter: "Unreal day for just a kid from Glasgow being awarded an MBE by His Royal Highness Prince of Wales. Windsor Castle was incredible."She told Glasgow Live at the time: "I think what's special about an MBE is it literally is across everything.
"I believe as footballers we all have a voice and we're all role models, so it's just a really proud moment that it has all been recognised at the same time."
