Reception staff working at a Glasgow GP surgery have faced abuse 'hard to contemplate' by patients.
Staff at a Glasgow GP surgery are facing abuse from patients over the time it takes to get an appointment.
A statement issued by the surgery outlines: "We write this at an extremely difficult time for your NHS. Following the covid 19 pandemic services were already stretched to the limit. The recent outbreaks of influenza and strep A have increased the pressure immensely on what was already a finite resource.
Reception staff have now been instructed to immediately terminate calls if they feel threatened, intimidated, or abused.
