The council spokesperson said: “Given the freezing temperatures at night and overnight over the past week we have been gritting more regularly than normal, with teams covering routes all across the city during the day, at night and overnight. “Through our Winter Maintenance Plan, we do everything in our power to maintain over 1900 kilometres of road and 3100 kilometres of footway and footpaths in Glasgow during the winter, to ensure the city can go about its normal business.”
