Gobey's behaviour was found to be a 'gross breach of trust' and 'planned behaviour'
Matthew Gobey was working with Living Ambitions in October 2018 when he was found to have stolen from service users and forged signatures
The Scottish Social Services Council heard that he forged the signatures of fellow employees on five service users' cheques and took £1,750 from their accounts. He also misappropriated £300 from a service users' cash tin.A report by the SSSC concluded: "While the behaviour took place a considerable time ago, the worker confessed to the actions before he was discovered, showed insight to his employers, and apologised and explained that.
"The behaviour caused financial harm to vulnerable individuals, and they will have had to have been reimbursed. "The behaviour demonstrated deep-seated attitudinal concerns and the level of insight, regret and apology was insufficient to affect the seriousness of the allegations."Sign up to Glasgow Live's newsletter Get all the latest Glasgow news and headlines sent straight to your inbox twice a day by signing up to our free newsletter.
