Caroline Muirhead helped bring her former partner to justice following the death of cyclist Tony Parsons - but has now lodged a complaint against Police Scotland.
A forensic pathologist from Glasgow lived with her killer ex to help detectives gather crucial evidence against him but has now slammed Police Scotland claiming she felt 'pressurised'.
She said: “From the word go the police they were saying if I didn’t cooperate with them I could end up in trouble myself. Robert admitted to attempting to defeat the ends of justice by burying the retired naval officer and his belongings.Paul Kavanagh, Caroline’s lawyer, said: “Without her there they didn’t have enough for the trial. She was absolutely crucial to the case and when I was asked to go and see her with my advocate we were shocked at the way she had been treated.”
The McKellar brothers had been boozing in the same bar as their victim who they crashed into on the A82 near Bridge of Orchy on their way back to their home on the Auch Estate near Tyndrum village. She then reported it to police on December 27, 2020 with the twins arrested and then bailed three days later.
She wasn’t allowed to speak to friends or family about what was happening and she felt completely isolated.“It’s like I was a police informant who had joined the actual criminals.” A warrant was issued for her arrest, a helicopter sent out to search for her and she was then locked in custody for two days suffering a mental breakdown.
