People in Glasgow and East Kilbride said it was the 'loudest and brightest thunder and lightning'
Last night people in Glasgow and the surrounding area were suddenly awoken by what many have described as a "loudest" bang.
Taking to social media, residents said that they saw the "brightest" lightning that they had ever seen followed by some pretty scary sounding thunder that startled many kids, adult and pets.As a result of the weather events, many people also experienced an outage with a power cut lasting around half an hour across several streets.
Many people began to reply to the post saying it was "wild" whilst many others thanked SP Networks for managing to fix the issue and restore power so quickly.
