Manchester United part-owners Ineos have ended a multi-year agreement with global ambassador and former manager Sir Alex Ferguson as part of their ongoing bid to cut costs
The Glazer family were said to be 'satisfied' with the club's multi-million pound ambassadorial agreement with Sir Alex Ferguson before it was axed by Ineos.
Ratcliffe and Ineos have full control of football operations after the British billionaire acquired a minority stake in his boyhood club from the Glazer family last year. The finer details of Ineos' decision were first revealed by The Athletic, who outlined that there is no animosity between Ferguson and the club over the decision.
It's outlined that the Glazers 'did not begrudge' paying Ferguson beyond his retirement as they recognise that much of the club's value is down to his legendary tenure, which spanned across 26 years and yielded a staggering 38 trophies.Ratcliffe has previously described Ferguson as "the greatest manager of his generation" and spoke highly of the United legend back in February when he discussed transitioning into his new role.
