Peamount United’s latest title win is proof that standalone women’s clubs can prosper - once they get their funding model right.

Peamount are one of two standalone female clubs - DLR Waves are the other - currently in the Women’s Premier Division. Asked if it was more difficult to succeed in the long-term without the financial backing of an established men's club, she replied: “There are pros and cons to both. “But I think there are pros and cons on either side and the standalone female club needs to pay attention obviously to where their funding and resources are going to come from.”
