Darren Patterson attended the festival with his wife
A dad who attended Creamfields sober this weekend said it was a "surreal experience". Darren Patterson said he was sceptical about going to the electronic music festival 10 years after giving up alcohol and drugs.
He said: “As soon as I stepped into the first tent when I got there, that was me. I was just in my element." Darren revealed he suffered with alcoholism in his 20s and was warned by doctors that he’d need to “calm down” as his drinking was affecting his liver, but said he’s “come a long way” since giving it up. Darren also explained becoming teetotal and giving up party drugs helped with his mental health too.
