Susanna Reid and Adil Ray were forced to interrupt Good Morning Britain on Thursday as the show was hit by breaking news regarding the Just Stop Oil activists
Good Morning Britain's broadcast was abruptly interrupted with the startling revelation that Just Stop Oil campaigners had infiltrated a private airfield at Stansted Airport.
On Thursday's episode, presenters Susanna Reid and Adil Ray delivered the unexpected news to viewers. Susanna interrupted the show to declare: "We have breaking news this morning that the Just Stop Oil activists who we saw at Stone Henge yesterday... Well, a number of other activists this morning have broken into a private airfield at Stansted Airport."
Reporting on the incident, Susanna explained: "You can see them here cutting through the fence and then defacing two private jets with orange paint." Two Just Stop Oil protesters, Jennifer Kowalski, 28, and Cole Macdonald, 22, were able to get onto the airfield at Stansted Airport at around 5am on Thursday morning, and targeted the aircraft with fire extinguishers loaded with orange paint. Following the incident, Just Stop Oil tweeted: "Jennifer and Cole cut the fence into the private airfield at Stansted where taylorswift13's jet is parked, demanding an emergency treaty to end fossil fuels by 2030.
