On a day in which fellow tech giants Apple and Huawei are hosting eagerly anticipated online and in-person events respectively, Google has quietly dropped the latest in its A series of smartphones - Pixel 8a.
READ MORE: I tested seven smartphones for less than €500 from Nothing, Honor, Google, Motorola, OnePlus, Redmi and Oppo The company said Pixel 8a boasts a new Actua display that is 40 percent brighter than last year’s Pixel 7a’s, which will make it easier to see and use outdoors. And it’s now got a faster 120Hz refresh rate to make scrolling and animations feel smooth and fluid.
Google Pixel 8a features a dual rear camera system with a 64MP main lens and a 13MP ultrawide lens. It also comes equipped with a 13MP front facing camera that has a large field of view tidal for group selfies. Google promises Pixel 8a will have seven years of software support, including security updates and Android upgrades. This means you’ll benefit from all the new features and improvements in ongoing feature drops, and to be fair to Google it delivers these upgrades regularly and consistently.
