Government confirm new social welfare payment date as they issue warning

There will be a change to the usual social welfare payment dates very soon and the government have confirmed the new payment dates - as well as sharing a warning

The government have confirmed a change in social welfare payment dates ahead of the May Bank Holiday.The Department of Social Protection issued a statement on their websites about the new dates.

"All Intreo Centres and Branch Offices will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday 6 May. Intreo Centres and Branch Offices will reopen on Tuesday 7 May." They also warned to be vigilant of increasing fraudulent phone calls claiming to be from the department. "If a customer raises this issue with you, please remind them to exercise extreme caution if they receive such a call and to verify the authenticity by using only official departmental contact details and websites.
