The Irish government is officially investigating allegations that Israel illegally flew weapons through Irish airspace for use in Gaza. Tanaiste Micheal Martin confirmed no permission was sought or granted for the controversial flights, which are believed to have been made by both civil and military aircraft.

People Before Profit Deputy Mick Barry said it flew from Nevatim Air Base over Ireland to Fairfield Travis Air Force base in the United States.But this flight is believed to be only the tip of the iceberg. "No applications have been received in exemptions granted for the carriage of munitions of war on civil aircraft to a point in Israel.
Mr Martin also reiterated that all foreign military aircraft that wishes to land or fly over Ireland requires diplomatic clearance from him as the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
