The Government has said it is launching a new £1bn scheme to help people throughout the country insulate their homes to cut their energy usage andThe scheme is a latest in a long line of attempts by the Government to improve Britain’s housing stock to lower bills and help the country transition towards net zero – which have had varying levels of success.
The current plan is that people who live in a home with an EPC Rating of D or below will be able to apply. An EPC rating is a measurement of how much energy is needed to keep your home at a comfortable temperature, with the rating ranging from A to G . The Government also plans to invest £18m on a new public information campaign, which will offer technical tips and advice for people to cut their energy use, while still remaining warm this winter.ECO+ will focus predominantly on the installation of low-cost insulation measures, such as loft insulation and cavity wall insulation.on their energy bills.
