“There could be a lot more help for people like myself [in order to] help to keep us at home.'

A cancer patient with two young children has said the Government should provide “a lot more help for people like myself”.“I had surgery, followed by chemotherapy and radium,” she recalled to“The prognosis was good, they had removed all the cancer as far as they were aware and once I had finished the treatment, then I was able to get back to living life.”

Initially when she felt a slight pain in her shoulder in early 2022 she thought little of it; however, after a few months she went to her GP. “At the time I was a home help for the elderly, so it involved a lot of driving and initially I put it down to the driving and I took a painkiller here and there,” Lisa said.“From that day, our lives as we knew it changed completely,” she said.“It wasn’t something that bothered me hugely but that can be an alarm bell for liver cancer.“So, not a good week.
