A Government spokesperson has confirmed that they will be opposing a Sinn Féin motion seeking to declare a 'housing emergency'
THE GOVERNMENT WILL oppose a Sinn Féin private members’ motion to declare a “housing emergency”, with a debate set to take place in the Dáil this evening.
“Over the last number of days we’ve seen all the manifestations of the failure of Fianna Fáil Fine Gael’s housing policy. The spokesperson for the Government said that they has consistently said that housing is the single biggest policy issue, adding that the Housing for All plan is focused on actions such as planning reforms and modern construction solutions.
“There is going to be a vote of confidence in this Government. It’s going to be in December when Tweedledum and Tweedledee change positions.”
