Government is aiming to end almost all Covid-19 restrictions by 22 October under plans going to Cabinet tomorrow.
The Cabinet Covid Committee will also recommend that the phased return to the workplace should commence on 20 September, RTÉ News understands.
Ministers are working out the exact capacity increases but it is likely to be up to 50% of a venue's capacity. Mr McGrath indicated that indoor activities for children as well as communions and confirmations could resume early next month. The Green Party leader said there would be a series of phased relaxations of restrictions for the month of September starting with public transport, to accommodate the return of schools, colleges and people going back to the office.
