Shinnie knows his team are letting the fans down and have to stop 'beating themselves' to turn things around.

Honest skipper Graeme Shinnie admits struggling Aberdeen have to stop beating themselves and need to turn their season around before the alarm bells start to ring.

“The fans have backed us tremendously but we haven’t been good enough so far. All we can do is start winning games and give them a team to be proud of. We have not scored many goals, we didn’t score at home to Hibs and didn’t score at Hearts. He said: “It’s a new group so the boys are getting to know each other but there’s no rest for the wicked. There’s no time. There are plenty of games coming thick and fast to turn it around. This is Aberdeen, we know where we are and we’re at a big club.

The league table is grim reading but Shinnie isn’t even looking at that. He was part of an Aberdeen team last season who came from nowhere to claim third. The midfielder knows it is all about the here and now and putting wins on the board. He said: “We are not thinking about that . “All we’re thinking about is turning the form around. At this early stage of the season turning that around and winning games is the most important thing.
