Some pensioners in the UK may have to choose between heating and eating
Elderly people living alone in Kettering this winter can now apply for a grant to help with the cost of heating. The special winter fuel bill grants have been organised by Kettering Town Council and are available to residents of Kettering and Barton Seagrave.
The grants come in response to the rising cost of fuel and living that is believed to become worse as we enter winter. Fears have been raised that some will have to choose between heating and eating.Applicants have until Wednesday, December 7, to return the form and have it approved ahead of Christmas. Grants are planned to be in the region of £70, subject to review at the end of the application period.
