Former Great British Bake Off presenter Mel Giedroyc has suffered a devastating loss following the death of her beloved mum, Rosemary Giedroyc who was 86. This sad news comes six years after the passing of her dad, Michal Giedroyc.
Mel,55, has a sister Coky, who is a film and TV director, Kasia, a children's writer, and Miko, a musician. When Mel was 11-years-old, the Giedroyc family moved to Oxford. He was sent to a labour camp in Siberia by the invading Soviet army in 1939. Mel once told The Guardian how her parents met, saying: "My father met my mother, Rosemary, through her mother, a children's book illustrator called Astrid who had formed a strong friendship with a Polish artist who knew my other grandmother from the old days in Poland", reports the Mirror.
In 2002, Mel tied the knot with her sweetheart Ben Morris, a TV director and teacher at LAMDA. They first met at a dinner party in 2000.
