The hot weather isn't coming to an end just yet, but conditions are looking cooler over the weekend
It’s set to be another hot day in Greater Manchester with the mercury expected to reach 25C by midafternoon today . But it’s going to be even hotter tomorrow, with the Met Office forecasting highs of up to 27C on Wednesday.
Temperatures are expected to steadily rise throughout today, reaching 24C by 1pm, rising to 25C by 3pm - although the ‘feels like’ temperature, which factors in aspects such as humidity and wind speed, will be 26C. It will remain warm well into the evening, with the mercury only dropping to 18C overnight.
Despite the toasty conditions it’s expected to be rather cloudy, with some sunny intervals throughout the day. But UV levels remain high so sun protection is a must, and pollen is expected to be very high as well. The mini- heatwave continues into Wednesday, but this time wall-to-wall sunshine is forecast, with some cloud expected later in the day. Forecasters predict that temperatures will reach 24C by midday, soaring to a sizzling 27C by 5pm.
Overnight into Thursday temperatures will drop gradually, and will remain cooler throughout the day - good news for those who aren’t enjoying the heat. The Met Office predicts more comfortable highs of 20C with some showers at lunchtime. Looking ahead to the weekend it will be a similar picture with Friday expected to be mild with some showers. On Saturday and Sunday highs of 19C are expected.
