Grinning Darwen drug lord who lived it up in Costa del Sol ordered to pay back ill-gotten gains
A Darwen drugs lord who led a £1.3m conspiracy which saw gang members living it up on the Costa Del Sol has been ordered to pay back his ill-gotten gains.
But the 38-year-old's empire came crumbling down when members of the Lancashire community raised concerns about children using drugs and being drawn into the criminal lifestyle. In 2020, Lancashire Police launched Operation Florence. It saw 25 addresses – including properties in Darwen, Blackburn and Northwich – searched and a large quantity of suspected cocaine and cannabis recovered. Officers also seized a number of vehicles and weapons.
In a separate video she recorded Akhter taking shipment of kilos of cannabis at a house in Sarah Street, Darwen. in April 2020, she sought to distance herself from the conspiracy and told Akhtar: "Taking my name off everything Monday and also ringing Auto and putting it in your name.In September 2021, Akhter was jailed for 13 years for conspiracy to supply cocaine and cannabis, while Humphries walked from court with a community order for 'being concerned in the supply of cannabis'.
