Manchester City have had to make do without Rodri for their last two matches but he will be available to play RB Leipzig
Pep Guardiola will allow Rodri some time off after RB Leipzig in order to give him the best chance of staying fit.
The ban does not apply to European competitions so the 27-year-old will start the game against RB Leipzig, with Guardiola confirming that he will play rather than using the Champions League match to road-test the best approach for Arsenal. However, Rodri will not be made to travel with the team to North London and will instead be given extra free time before linking up with the Spain team for their upcoming games.
Rodri played more minutes than any other City player this season and told staff this summer that they could not expect him to do the same again this season if they wanted to ensure he continues to perform at the highest level. His domestic suspension will end in time for the Premier League match at home to Brighton later this month.
