Following customer feedback, the brand has revised their best-selling all-mountain bike, creating a new Smash V2 that aims to be more versatile than its predecessor.
While the Smash V1’s rear travel was 145mm, the V2 has been bumped up to 150mm. The frame is intended for 150-170mm forks, and it comes stock on 29” wheels only. Guerrilla Gravity does not recommend a mixed-wheel setup for the Smash V2. Instead, they suggest mullet fans check out their 165mmThe Smash V2 frame features vibration-damping Revved Carbon in the front end and its swingarm. And it has aluminum seatstays and an aluminum linkage.
As for fitment standards, the Smash V2 uses a 73mm threaded BB. The frame includes ISCG05 chain guide/bash guard mounts, and can accept up to a 34t chainring. Anti-squat has been tuned to provide solid pedaling without sacrificing good traction on bumpy climbs. This was achieved by moving the main pivot location down a bit, which also helped decrease chain growth when the bike is deep in its travel. To sum it up, these refinements should make the new Smash V2 more efficient on climbs, and more bottomless on the descents – the best of both worlds.
