It’s really good that you recognised that in your parents because it would be even more toxic to think was normal behaviour…although it may be their normal approach to their parenting it’s quite normal for you to not want that for you now your building your own family.
she gradually started to feel our absence, she was having a cluster of bad days with her depression and I do know that when my sister falls out with people around it soon manifests out into bad days and depression. When my mum had said she had had a few bad days I decided to FaceTime with my little boy because I knew her seeing her nephew would cheer her up. We gradually came back from it but the silence in the last 3 months made the biggest impact on her.
