H.E.R. rocks out at the Grammys with LennyKravitz and TravisBarker
may be best known for her pop-friendly R&B sound, but on Sunday night at the 64th Grammy awards, she showed off impressive rock and roll chops during a performance medley with high-profile guests Lenny Kravitz and Blink-182 drummer/producer Travis Barker.
The performance began with H.E.R. joined by Minneapolis production legends Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis for her song “Damage,” which was nominated tonight for best R&B performance but lost out to Jazmine Sullivan’s “Pick Up Your Feelings.” From there, she switched to drums before yielding to a shirtless Barker behind the kit and the gold spandex-clad Kravitz on guitar and vocals on the latter’s “Are You Gonna Go My Way?” H.E.R. and Kravitz traded guitar solos as they walked to a second stage right in the thick of the seated audience on the floor., will vie for the Grammy album of the year trophy later tonight. The artist has an extensive tour on tap this spring and summer in support of, which peaked at No. 6 on The Billboard 200.
