In a new YouTube video, the model discusses what led to her hospitalisation
Speaking about her experience in a new video, she's revealed that following the mini stroke she had to have heart surgery to close a small hole in her heart. Doctors believe that the blood clot could have travelled to her brain through the hole, called a PFO, which was 12 and 13 millimeters. Hailey says that she had to see further doctors after she was released from hospital to be diagnosed with the PFO.
In the YouTube video, Hailey explained that when the mini stroke happened her face started drooping and she struggled to speak. She was then checked over by a nearby medic and Justin called 911.says that by the time she made it to the emergency room, she felt better, but that her anxiety had understandably made the experience more frightening. She was then kept in overnight so doctors could determine the cause of the clot in her brain.
It was afterwards that she was tested for the PFO by doctors at the University of California, Los Angeles. Thankfully, she says the procedure to close the PFO went well, and that since the operation she has been taking aspirin and blood thinning medication daily. 'I'm recovering really well, really fast,' Hailey said towards the end of the video. 'I feel great. I just feel really relieved that we were able to figure everything out, that we were able to getclosed, that I will be able to just move on from this really scary situation and just live my life. It was definitely a really eye opening thing for me.'
