Sobe Brown salon owner and RTE Today’s resident hairdresser Pamela Morrissey explains the science behind hair loss and how we can help combat it.

Many women find their hair loses length, volume and vitality around menopause. This is because oestrogen, your hair friendly hormone, decreases and this affects your growth.

“Burn out or not listening to your body will affect your hair growth. Once you a re over 40 you need to listen to your body - all the things we mentioned already like stress, nutrition and exercise are all factors. Get your blood done to see if you are deficient in anything and make the changes so you can help control your hair loss.”
