first came onto his radar, but 20 years after lending his voice to the video game franchise’s protagonist Sora, but the Oscar-nominated actor said it’s been an acting experience unlike any other.
“I never could have expect at the time I could have been a 20-year relationship with a character,” he reflected. “It is by far the longest I’ve had with any project of any kind.
Osment’s decades-long journey as Sora began with a pitch from his agent at the time, he said. Coming to the project with a number of credits under his name, includingfor which he earned an Oscar nomination, Osment said he was looking to further expand his skill set and accepted the role “because it was an unusual project.”
“We took the job going ‘Okay, we’ll see how it goes.’… As much as I love video games, I was not familiar with the sort of trajectory that would come out of a game like this and it became a really rewarding experience,” he said.
